Local food speaks so much about a place and the culture. I didn't have  the chance to join my bro-in-law in his Tuguegarao adventure when he visited my late mom-in-law’s hometown. I’ve heard a lot of Tuguegarao province from my Mama Elvie when she was still alive. She talks about her family, how their day to day life has taught her to be very domesticated, and of course the tapang kalabaw which I knew is the well-known meat native dish in her province. When my bro-in-law got back after his two weeks getaway, he didn’t forget to bring home the native deli that made us feel the rich culture of the province and the warm regards from the clan since our Aunts and Uncles prepared much of the “pasalubong” by themselves.

Let us take the friendship into a more mature level. It’s not all about girl bonding, shopping, gossiping or cooking together. It is between two married women who happened to be friends for more than a decade. How their marriage affects their friendship which involves honesty, compassion and solicitude. They’ve been through a lot. They’ve shared everything, never kept any secrets. Even the bits and pieces of their married life were shredded between conversations. Only one thing is for sure, their husbands weren’t alike. The two men are far different from each other. Their attitude and principles are like summer and winter, clean and messy and black and white. She’s lucky she has the summer, the clean and the white.

Home Program for Occupational Therapy is a guide that can be done at home while on vacation. My son, Joaqui was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay and he is having OT (Occupational Therapy) sessions at Clinic for Therapy Services (CTS) at the University of the Philippines – College of Allied Medicine Professions (UP-CAMP) Manila since he was only 18 months old. The Clinic for Therapy Services (CTS) is managed by the faculty members and students of UP Manila. It runs during school days only since therapy sessions were performed by the OT, PT and SP students supervised by registered therapists.  It is a college-based clinic of the UP-CAMP that provides a venue for service, training, and research for the students and faculty members.

My youngest son is already at his sixth month this March and I was able to try this new dry infant cereal for babies starting at six months onward. My baby Miguel tried it and he loves it! What I liked most about Nutri-Del is it’s locally made. It is manufactured by AGRIBIOSCIENCE INC. at Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. I sympathize with the local manufacturers and laborers in the country especially these days when foreign companies’ dominance is undeniable. Nutri-Del infant cereal is a rice-based from formulated single grain, gluten free cereal. It is loaded with essential vitamins and minerals to sustain our baby’s nutrient demand for optimum growth and development.

(Late post)   It happened over a year ago, during election period. But I am certain that this post deserves a spot on my blog. It will touch many people’s hearts and probably call other people’s attention. Let us be more vigilant during these times especially to the families and loved ones of Persons With Disabilities. During election period, faces of politicians are all over the streets, from fiesta greetings, valentine greetings and graduation day greetings, banners and posters are everywhere. All the electoral candidates are doing everything just to capture everyone’s attention. Campaign rallies happen around the country and their main agenda is to encourage a lot of people from different public sectors to attend and listen to their never ending promises to be able to acquire as many votes as possible. I just gave birth five months ago. When I was still pregnant, I was given the chance to try three different kinds of milk that is best suitable for pregnant women. Every time I visit my OB-Gynecologist, there was always a sample of milk especially made for pregnant women given by the promo representatives of each milk in the waiting area. I have tried at least three of them and I would like to give you my honest opinions regarding its taste because this kinds of milk are known to have unpleasant taste since it is loaded with vitamins and essential nutrients so it is tend to taste like medicine even if it is flavored.

Dear Lord,                 I know you can see me, you can hear me weep, and you can feel my pain. I am having a difficult, high-risk pregnancy. It is even more difficult being alone without a help from anyone to constantly attend to the needs of the kids and take care of the household chores when the doctor advised me to take a complete bed rest.  What breaks my heart is to see my kids calling me in the morning to prepare breakfast when I am at risk if I do so.  Certainly, I would still take the risk with a thought that you, oh Lord, would never put me in danger. It is also hard to see my husband’s sacrifices when he has to clean the house while preparing our lunch and bathe my kid right after he put his bag on the table after work.
