Hungry for more!

I am a certified bookworm since I was a kid. I remember reading the newspaper when I was only 6. I am an early reader and a fast learner (Ehem! these are sweet praises from my loving mom). I’ve got a Sweet Valley High and Sweet Valley University collection back in high school but I lost them one by one until none of them left because we moved from one house to another several times before. I remember how hard it was from packing and unpacking your things to arranging them all over again. I have lost a lot of my personal belongings. When I got married, quit my job and finally settled as a plain housewife, I started collecting books again. My thoughtful husband used to give me books as presents. He gave me the The Hunger Games trilogy even before they brought the movie here in the Philippines. I got so intrigued and fascinated with this book because I find it interesting in the first couple of pages, it has an unusual story that you could play with your imagination. It is the ty

Marks and Spencer Caramel Crispy Mini Bites

My brother used to bring home a pasalubong to my kids every payday. Most of the time it’s chocolate cookies because he knows that his nephews are addicted to it. One day, he brought them a pint of Marks and Spencer extremely chocolatey Caramel Crispy Mini Bites. I tasted it myself and I can’t stop munching already! It is cut into bite size so you wouldn’t have a hard time chewing.

Transgender versus women is like ex-men versus human (LOL)

I am a fan of beauty pageants since I was just a little girl. I remember the time when I wore the 3-inch shoes of my aunt and walked like a beauty queen around the house and guess what, I didn’t stumble down. :) And who doesn’t know the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world? It is certainly Ms. Universe owned by Donald Trump , everybody knows this. The Ms. Universe has been the talk of every country in the world for like a couple of weeks already because of a controversy when a transgender    Jenna Talackova  from Canada joined the Ms. Universe pageant this year. He has been disqualified but he took a stand and insisted that he is a woman. Talackova actually called for a press conference together with his lawyer and shown proofs, rather documents that he is a woman.

Filipino Traditional Beliefs in Pregnancy

I’ve got two kids already and I’ve heard a lot of traditional beliefs that my folks passed on me when I got pregnant. It somehow affects an expectant mom’s life because the restrictions are made and it created confusion and fear. When I got married, my husband and I moved to a new house right beside my in-laws’. My mother-in-law is a native of Cagayan province and she grew up with a numerous myths and beliefs that she used to tell me when I got pregnant until I gave birth to my youngest child. Unfortunately, she passed away when my youngest is only 3 months old. Here are some of them that I’m sure some other moms out there also knew:
