Let us do our part, Help the victims of typhoon Sendong

I didn’t get to sleep tight last night. I was so bothered with what I saw in the news.  My heart is pounding and breaking into pieces as I watch the news about how this typhoon Sendong almost wiped some parts of Cagayan De Oro and other provinces in Mindanao out of the map and left more than a thousand of casualties and lots of people still missing up to this moment.

Study Table as an Early Christmas Gift

Every year, my husband and I are having a thorough thinking on what to give to our kids as a Christmas present. We want it to be useful and at the same time it must be the one that they would like to have. Most of the kids are asking for toys. They want toys more than anything else and toys are all over the place during Christmas season because we believe that Christmas is basically for the enjoyment of our little ones. Our relatives would usually ask me about what I think is the best gift that my children would want to receive on Christmas and I would tell them that it’s okay to give whatever suits their budget but I prefer things that they can use such as clothes or slippers since my kids are both boys who run outside most of the time, their slippers don’t last that long.

Every Second Counts

As we grow up, there are so many things that we learn as we get to experience a lot of things on our journey called life.  We get to learn a lot especially after rising from defeat.  We learn that even the last person that isn’t supposed to let us down, probably will. Broken trust brings us wound that eventually turn into a scar. A scar that no matter what we do stays on our skin that will serve as a reminder that at some point in our life, we were hurt.

Second Hand Books on the Sidewalk

I often walk through the busy road of Padre Faura in Manila every week because my youngest son is having a weekly Occupational Therapy at UP Manila. Padre Faura is one of the busiest roads in Manila because you can find two of the major Government agencies across that road which is the Supreme Court and the Department of Justice. We always bumped into different kinds of people walking around. Students, professors, government employees and staffs often taking a walk than riding a jeepney because I think they got used to it or maybe this is more faster than taking a ride on a light traffic road full of vehicles parked both ways across the narrow street.

My Creamy Carbonara Recipe

Whenever there is an occasion, I make it a point that I will cook one of my specialty dishes. Birthdays, Town Fiesta, family gatherings and during Christmas and New Year’s Eve there is always a pasta dish which is a family favorite and I guess everybody does. Spaghetti is always a tradition in every Filipino table every Christmas. Why not change this tradition this year? Why don’t we try having white pasta on our table this Christmas? I am sharing with you my Creamy Carbonara Recipe which everybody asks for whenever we throw a party at home. So, grab a pen and a sheet of paper and take a note of these ingredients.
